Step-up floor
Does anyone know how to create a 7 inch step-up floor? My living room and dining room share the same space - a rectangular box. I would like to separate the two living spaces by creating a step-up living room. Seven inches would be maximum height of the step. Thanks.
Personally, the look is too 70's for me but should be pretty easy to frame in.....if there are small children or elderly people in the house be aware that a difference in the floor height is an invitation for accidents....both going up the step and down, try to have a change in flooring or colour of carpet etc to define each area..... I would rather paint each area floor a different colour or carpet one area or 2 large area rugs to define each area..... Brenda <who trips over the doorsills at least once a day! lol
