Shopsmith vs. Supershop

Does anyone have any opinions about these two all in one woodworking stations? The FIL is looking at them and I told him I would look and ask around to see if anyone had some stories. Sheresa

I don't know about the super shop, but Shopsmith was and probably still is, a fine precision tool, but, and there is always a but. The task of constantly changing set-ups to do different tasks is wearisome and most grow quickly tired of the hassle. If you compare the cost of a Shopsmith as compared to the purchase of the several tools individually, I would personally go for the individual tool buy. It is possible to buy a used Shopsmith from some disillusioned owner for a very reasonable price. The one feature of the Shopsmith that I have been interested in is the Horizontal drill press, but this one feature hardly justifies the cost. Dale
