I'm new here. I plan on just lurking because I'm a beginner DIY'er. My
favorite channel on TV is HGTV. I'm an older full time student. I stayed home
with my children and am now going back to school in order to get my bachelors.
I don't have much time for projects but love dreaming.
I hope you all don't mind if I eaves drop on your conversations. I'm hoping to
learn some great "cheap" tips from you all.

My name is Joyce. I am a single mom and a Do-It-Yourselfer. I am a
new member and although I do not have any projects going on right now,
I am sure I will in the future. I have remodeled my bathroom and
kitchen in a previous house (by myself), and I love completing a new
project. I am still an amatuer, but I completely gutted the bathroom
and put in a new floor, toilet, sink & vanity, medicine cabinet and
lighting. That was my first major project on my own, and other than
inconveniencing the family for a day with the toilet, I did a great
job! The kitchen floor was not perfect! I had to do it in 2 pieces as
I was using linoleum. It looked great for a couple of days, but the
seam began to separate slightly. The bathroom luckily was one piece so
I didn't have that problem. I hope to pick up some tips and tricks
from other members so my future projects will not be quite as
experimental as the kitchen floor. Overall that was the only "poor"
project so far.
I look forward to chatting and exchanging project ideas, tips, tricks,
etc.
