[DIY] How do people without welders grill over mesquite?

Jim, Maybe you could market your invention! LOL My wife uses the old Girl Scout trick of stuffing an empty milk carton with lint from the dryer. Starts fast and burns hot. Wonder if that would work? I have never tried it on mesquite. Ray

No. I have two objections to gas grills. First is that the food tastes better when cooked over coals than it does cooked over gas. And second is that a gas grill is about one step removed from cooking on the range inside. I like charcoal grills, so that's what I use. -- --jmowreader

What the heck is a milk carton? Is it some sort of paper container for milk? :-) All the milk sold around here comes in plastic bottles of various sizes; I really doubt you'd want that in your barbecue. I don't think it would work either; I musta used a quart of mineral spirits to get it to not light. -- --jmowreader
