Yes, I do have a Rottie. She is my big baby (105 lbs.) and my protector. On the 1300 mile trip from Michigan to Colorado, through a very nasty ice storm in Iowa, she watched over me while I slept and also kept me warm when I was cold. She also tried to fend off the 18 wheelers coming up behind us, LOL. Always wanted one, and my second husband wasn't afraid of the breed and got me one for my birthday. Good thing she was for me, she is definitely a momma's girl ! Lori Arvada, Colorado
Lori, what's with animals and wanting to protect the car from 18-wheelers? Psst: I love Rotties :) Anyway, when I moved from Nebraska to North Carolina (about 1400 miles), my Snuggles (20 pound cat) kept sitting in the back window hissing and "smacking" anyone who got too close ... Your cat did the same thing my rottie did. LOL Semi's that got too close behind me got the 'I will bite you!' pose. I was wondering if she knew just how bad the roads were. I imagine she knew just how stressed out I was. We were driving into a very nasty ice storm (was like a junk yard along the interstate). I-80 had been closed down along with everything in and around Des Moines. After seeing one death during that whole ordeal, it is a trip that none of us will ever forget. Even my 5 year old remembers that whole mess. But things are better now, and the hardest thing we have to deal with now is finding affordable housing. With the economy the way it is, lately prices have come down just a wee bit on real estate here. Am crossing my fingers that it comes down even more by the time we are ready to buy something. Until then, I need to go out on the north side of the this house. I have lots of condensation on my bedroom wall, and the ceiling. There is a huge spot of mold growing through the paint also. So I imagine there is another huge crack in the brick siding that I missed last time. Thank goodness caulk is cheap. Lori Arvada, Colorado
