Cleaning Out Garage
Hi - I just joined. Can someone tell me what to use to clean out my garage? I just had a ton of stuff removed from it but it is full of cobwebs and some leaves - yuck! I HATE cobwebs but I have to get rid of them, along with all the dirt and grime that is now on the floor. Is it okay to use a hose and hose down the inside of it? The walls are drywall or similar, I think. It is actually a condo garage but I believe I saw another neighbor hosing down hers quite a while ago. What can I use to clean the painted cement floor?
My shop vac could suck a golf ball through a garden hose, I don't worry about having to get too close to cobwebs and spider webs with that thing. It also works as a blower, which helps with the leaves and dirt that get into the garage on the floor. Before we had that, hubby used the air compressor to blow the dirt and such out. Kati
well, you do what you can as you can.... the only way i've kept the garage clean is to sweep it out every week or so... cobwebs just spring up, like even in the house.. so i just clean the corners every other week or so.... Misty Glen <mistyglen@... You are not kidding! I will never let it get like this again but then when you get sick there's not much you can do. How can I prevent spiders and cobwebs in the garage in the future? robin grunzweig kitysmom2@... mission viejo, ca usa "To live a creative life, we must lose our fear of being wrong." --Joseph Chilton Pearce
That's okay, we all have our little fears! But that's what husbands (or wives, or understanding best friends) are for! And you can pay them back with a nice plate of brownies. :) I have to agree though that a nice little shop vac with a loooong extension on it would get up in those corners without making you personally get too close to the cobblies. And then if you vacuum every couple of weeks, the webs will be too small at that point for you to see them, so you can just vacuum and pretend they aren't there. Good luck! Ann
I do not have a hubby so it is up to me to do it all! (Aaaggghhhh!!!!!!)
you can do it!!! just remember you have more power than the cobwebs do!!! i've actually never seen a spider in a cobweb, usually they are abandoned (or whatever)... just think how great you'll feel when you've done it!! wear long sleeves, gloves and a hat (and a dust mask) if you want more protection... YOU GO GIRL!! ;-) you can do this! i wanna hear from you when you're finished!!! Misty Glen <mistyglen@... I do not have a hubby so it is up to me to do it all!
