Carpet
Hubby has decided that he wants the upstairs carpet replaced next. Hmm...kind of messed up my timetable a bit, but we can be flexible. LOL Anyway, wanted to know if anybody knew if it was good to order carpet online. I have already decided the color and type I want but I can't seem to find it online though. Most of what I find online is the really cheap stuff...don't want that. Thanks in advance for any help you can offer. Jen in Texas
thats the kind of stuff that you want to see hands-on. there are many different brands, types, napps, colors and especially prices. what size room do you want to do? you may get a deal on a remnant which is either the end of the roll or an item they are not going to restock and its taking up room in the store. you got to be careful there is a large margin on this stuff from store to store.
Hello All, I am going to be closing on my "fixer upper" in april and I am going to have to pretty much gut the entire upper floor. I was out looking at flooring options today and saw carpet remnants which look much cheaper than having someone come and install it for me. I can get the remnants the same size or larger than the rooms I am looking to put them in. Has anyone out there put in their own carpets? It seems like a straightforward and simple process, just stretch and tack. Chuck
Well, not quite stretch and tack...more like stretch and attach to tack strips. Home Depot and Lowe's both sell them, and a tool rental place will have the carpet kicker you need to stretch it out. But it is a fairly easy job. -- --jmowreader
